As the Chair of the Meeting of AIPA Young Parliamentarians (YPA), H.E. Mr. Hun Many led a delegation of AIPA Young Parliamentarians to pay a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, AIPA-43 President on the morning of 21 November 2022.
At the outset, he expressed his profound gratitude to the AIPA-43 President for taking his busy time during the General Assembly to grant a courtesy call to the Heads of YPA delegation. The Meeting chair also expressed his great pleasure in hosting the YPA Meeting, which is held physically in Cambodia for the first time during the 43rd AIPA.
Taking terrific opportunity in the Meeting, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN state that "youth are considered as the most dynamic resource in political and economic process, especially their roles played in the maintenance of regional and global peace, and political stability, while their representation have been promoted in all domains”.
On this occasion, on behalf of the delegation of YPA, H.E. Mr. Hun Many expressed his optimism that "with contributions from young parliamentarians which reflect the determination by AIPA member parliaments and ASEAN as a whole, we look forward to achieving the ASEAN community of full opportunities, active and positive contributions of young people for the sake of the common interests of the peoples and countries of the region."
It is informed that the First Meeting of AIPA Young Parliamentarians was held under the theme of "Promoting Connectivity with Young People for a Sustainable, Resilient and Prosperous ASEAN Community", which is very timely and relevant to the theme of the 43rd AIPA General Assembly of “Advancing Together for Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient ASEAN”.
