Parliamentary Delegations From AIPA Member Parliaments Arrive for the ASEAN-AIPA Leaders' Interface Meeting in Phnom Penh

Parliamentary delegations from the member countries of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) have arrived in the Kingdom of Cambodia on 9 November 2022 for their participation in the ASEAN-AIPA Leaders' Interface Meeting to be held on 10 November 2022 at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel and Residence.

It is noted that on the morning of 10 November 2022 at 9:00 am at the Cambodiana hotel, His Excellency Kittisethabindit Cheam Yeap,  First Vice-President of the National Assembly and Head of Delegation of the Cambodian Parliament, will chair a preparatory meeting with the delegations from AIPA member countries in order to discuss the inclusion of inputs of common ground in the message to be delivered by Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN, President of the National Assembly and Rotating President of the 43rd General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, before all ASEAN leaders.

On the afternoon of the same day, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN, President of the National Assembly and President of the 43rd AIPA, will lead a high-level parliamentary delegation of AIPA member countries to attend ASEAN-AIPA Leaders’ Interface Meeting, which will be held on 10 November 2022 at 14:00 at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel and Residence, during the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits.

More importantly, the ASEAN-AIPA Leaders' Interface Meeting, held during each ASEAN Summit, is the highest level of dialogue among ASEAN leaders and AIPA representatives intended to strengthen the cooperation between ASEAN and AIPA. The event supports the interaction between the legislative and executive branches, exchange information and discuss on the works of ASEAN at all levels towards realizing the common objective of ASEAN for peace, stability and sustainable development goals (SDGs), and accelerating the achievement of the ASEAN community in the future.
